Summer of 2017, SoCal legends CHANNEL 3 (aka CH3) released "Put 'Em Up," their first LP of new material since 2002's self-titled album. "Put 'Em Up" is an excellent showing from this classic band that sees a stylistic return to queues from the twin influences of the CLASH and CHEAP TRICK, with lyrics addressing the everyday strife of life in modern America. With apologies to Joe Strummer, sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards....

Recorded in 1985 and released in 1988 on Bona Fide / Chopper, this sole example of the short-lived 5-piece line-up remained an obscurity in the ANTiSEEN catalog, until it was reissued in as part of the original "Vault Of ANTiSEEN" series on TKO in 2002.
Now, after being out of print for nearly 15 years, we are proud to make this important piece of ANTiSEEN's legacy available again.
It's been repackaged, remastered and recut for vinyl, and dare we say, the 2017 version of "Honour Among Thieves" is the loudest and nastiest sounding version to date. Long a favorite of diehard PI fans, "War.." was a pivotal moment in POISON IDEA's evolution. With the addition of a second guitarist, and the debut of legendary powerhouse drummer Steve "THEE Slayer Hippie" Hanford, this album established the direction POISON IDEA would follow into the second decade of their career. 

This one has been a long time coming folks, and with the full deluxe "Kings Of Punk" series reissue treatment, this version will prove to be well worth the wait. Stay tuned, more volumes in the KOP series are due to follow in 2017!!

POISON IDEA - "Latest Will And Testament" LP

 

TKO Records is delighted to FINALLY  bring you Volume 4 of the POISON IDEA "Kings Of Punk" reissue series: the 10th Anniversary edition of "LatestWill & Testament." 

This album was to be the final recordings of POISON IDEA's legendary guitarist Tom "Pig Champion" Roberts, and was originally released in Europe in early 2006, shortly after his death. This reissue is the first domestic release of this later period, lost P.I. classic. 

It's widely agreed  among P.I. fans that the original 2006 version clearly suffered from the unfortunate circumstance under which it was released. For this edition, Punk/Metal crossover wunderkind Joel Grind of TOXIC HOLOCAUST was given with the task of remixing the album from the master tapes. The end result is the presentation that "Latest Will..." was always meant to have: an album that now without question earns its place among the rest of POISON IDEA's powerful discography

CATCHING UP PART 1

Being that this blog hasn't been properly updated in nearly two years, we've got a little bit of catching up to do, dear readers! Please allow us to present the condensed version of what's been happening with TKO:

TKO RECORDS LABEL & STORE NEWS

-At the end of 2014, TKO RECORDS founder and owner Mark Rainey moved with his family up to Portland, OR where he continues to operate the label.

-After taking over a year off from releasing any titles, TKO RECORDS became active again in mid-2016. Updates on the four titles released on TKO last year will follow in the coming days.

-The TKO storefront in Huntington Beach, CA continues to operate, but it is no longer officially connected to the label. The store was purchased by a longtime, loyal TKO employee who is committed to carry on the store's 8-year history of being a destination for record collectors from around the world. Please check the store's FACEBOOK PAGE for information, or better yet, just go down there during business hours and talk to the fine folks there.

CASCADE RECORD PRESSING

-So why was the TKO label largely inactive between the second half of 2015 and the first half of 2016, you ask?
The main reason was that Mark and his business partners were busy building out and then launching CASCADE RECORD PRESSING, a newly established vinyl pressing plant in Milwaukie, OR.

CASCADE is the first pressing plant in the state of Oregon, ever. It is also the first record pressing operation to be opened the Pacific Northwest in over 30 years, and the only plant operating in the region. The first records rolled off the press in June of 2015, and since that time, CASCADE has pressed close to 1 million 12" records for nearly 1,000 different titles.
