POISON IDEA - "Latest Will And Testament" LP

 

TKO Records is delighted to FINALLY  bring you Volume 4 of the POISON IDEA "Kings Of Punk" reissue series: the 10th Anniversary edition of "LatestWill & Testament." 

This album was to be the final recordings of POISON IDEA's legendary guitarist Tom "Pig Champion" Roberts, and was originally released in Europe in early 2006, shortly after his death. This reissue is the first domestic release of this later period, lost P.I. classic. 

It's widely agreed  among P.I. fans that the original 2006 version clearly suffered from the unfortunate circumstance under which it was released. For this edition, Punk/Metal crossover wunderkind Joel Grind of TOXIC HOLOCAUST was given with the task of remixing the album from the master tapes. The end result is the presentation that "Latest Will..." was always meant to have: an album that now without question earns its place among the rest of POISON IDEA's powerful discography

It has been close to TWO YEARS since this blog has been updated, and being that 2017 will mark the 20th anniversary of TKO RECORDS, we figured it would be a good idea to get back into the habit of updating anyone who's still paying attention on what's going on with the label.

POISON IDEA: Scandinavia & Beyond (UPDATED w/ TOUR DATES)!!

2014 has proven to be a very busy year for the "Kings Of Punk!!" We're talking West Coast tour, a wopping three - count 'em THREE - RECORD STORE DAY releases (on TKO, Rhino Records and Voodoo Donut Recordings), an Australian tour, an appearance at PUNK ROCK BOWLING... ANOTHER line-up change, NEW MANAGMENT, as well as the launch of the band's new BIG CARTEL WEB STORE......

Yes, POISON IDEA has been keeping busy this year. So what's next, you ask? Well, the band has unfortunately had to CANCEL their upcoming European tour, however the Scandinavian leg of the tour has been salvaged, and PI will be playing the following dates in August:

August 22 - Copenhagen, Denmark @ Loppen

August 23 - Gothenburg, Sweden @ Henricksberg (Club Showdown)

In the meantime, the band is continuing to work on new material for the new album, as well as coordinating with TKO on the next installment of the "Kings Of Punk" reissue series. Currently, production is wrapping up on a revamped version of "Darby Crash Rides Again: The Early Years" as well as the debut of volume 4 in the series, 1987's "War All The Time" LP. Further details will follow in the very near future...

REISSUES & TOUR DATES

TKO is working on a few essential reissues that will be available in the very near future. Each band will be on tour in support of these repackaged classics!

The reissue of Poison Idea's mid-80's masterpiece Kings of Punk is due out soon. The new edition will feature a remastered version of the album and deluxe packaging that includes expanded liner notes, previously unpublished photos, a poster and a bonus live 12" of soundboard recordings from '84-'86: The works!

TKO welcomes Giuda to the family, reissuing their debut album "Racey Roller". If you are unfamiliar with the band, they seamlessly interweave the glam stylings of bands like Slade or The Sweet with the energy of early UK pub rock to inject you with a blast of glitter-tinged proto-punk. POISON IDEA REISSUE SERIES PART 1-THE EARLY YEARS

The first in a series of Poison Idea reissues is out now on TKO Records. "Darby Crash Rides Again: The Early Years" compiles early demo sessions, live radio sets, and outtakes to bring you 29 remastered tracks from the brutal beginnings of Portland's finest. This LP includes the complete Boner's Kitchen Demo from 1981, the infamous Darby Crash Demo from 1982, a live set on KBOO from 1983, and outtakes from the "Record Collectors Are Pretentious Assholes" session from 1984. It comes housed in a gatefold sleeve with never before seen photos and flyers from some of the band's earliest shows and liner notes written by Portland musician Mark Sten. 200 copies have been pressed on blue vinyl and are going fast! A digital download of the whole album is also included and you get this all for the modest retail price of $15.99.
